Parallel Programming with MPI/OpenMP – August 16 – 24, 2023
To all researchers interested in parallel programming:
Scientific IT Services (SIS) of ETH Zurich are pleased to announce a six-day course in Parallel Programming with MPI/OpenMP. The course is being held online from August 16 – 24, 2023. The course will be given by Dr. Rolf Rabenseifner from HLRS, a world-renowned expert in parallel computing and teacher of courses in the areas of parallel programming with the Message Passing Interface (MPI), shared memory parallelization with OpenMP, and the Partitioned Global Address Space (PGAS) languages UPC and Co-Array Fortran.
The aim of this course is to give people with some programming experience an introduction into the parallel programming models MPI and OpenMP. It starts on beginners level but also includes advanced features of the current standards. Hands-on sessions (in C, Fortran, and Python) will allow users to immediately test and understand the constructs of the Message Passing Interface (MPI) and the shared memory directives of OpenMP.
The course is subdivided into 3 two-day-blocks (for details, see here):
- block: OpenMP;
- block: Introduction to MPI;
- block: Intermediate & advanced methods in MPI.
Participants can register for the full six-day course or for two-day blocks individually or combined.
This course is open to members of academia as well as participants from industry.
