In his article Loris Fedele explains the role of supercomputing in modern science – how supercomputers are now being used as virtual laboratories for experiments that would be difficult or impossible to carry out in real life.
CSCS is internationally recognised for its innovative role in supercomputing, and Fedele describes the function of CSCS in serving science, industry and the economy:
