Dr. Darren Reed, a post doc at University of Zurich presents at CSCS User Day his work on “Clues about the dark matter particle from the large-scale cosmic web of galaxies”. He also tries to answer the question “what is exactly dark matter?”.

As is tradition, Rich Brueckner of insideHPC visited the Swiss hpc-ch booth at the SC12 conference in Salt Lake City. Rich describes some of the hot topics at SC12, including the emergence of new accelerators from NVIDIA and Intel, and new liquid cooling technologies.
