Call for Presentations and Partecipants: Forum on Parallel File Systems for HPC

Dear members and guests of the hpc-ch community,

We are pleased to invite you to the upcoming hpc-ch forum on

Parallel File Systems for HPC

to be held on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 10:00 until 17:00, kindly hosted by ETH Zurich by the HPC group of Olivier Byrde.

ETH Zurich will present its heterogeneous Brutus cluster (90 TF) and share their experience with the High-Availability Lustre file system (230 TB) attached to that cluster. The attendees will also have the chance to visit the ETH’s main computer room and see the multiple generations of hardware (2004-2010) that compose Brutus.

The goal of this forum is to exchange information about Parallel and Distributed File Systems for HPC. At the end of the day, each participant will have an overview of which systems are used in the other institutions, how they are used, and how easy/difficult they are to install and operate.

To register send please an e-mail to delorenzi(at)cscs.ch until October 11, 2010 with the following information:

  • The names of the representatives of your organization who will participate at the Topic Forum, and if they will participate to the common dinner
  • (Optional) The title and speakers’ names for a short presentations (20 minutes including Q&A)

We are looking forward to meet you all in October.
