Meeting of the hpc-ch delegation at sc09

The Swiss hpc-ch delegation did meet at the Supercomputin Conference 2009 in Portland, Oregon. After the initial meeting in Hamburg at ISC this has been rhe first get together. The Swiss representatives can be proud this year to present five systems listed in the top 500 list of the fastest supercomputer systems for a total of 346 teraflops (additional considerations on this öist will be published in a separate posting). The large number of Swiss representatives and good placement of their systems shows once again the importance HPC is getting in Switzerland.

Just in a few days (November 14-20) the largest conference on hpc will start in Portland, Oregon. This is the greatest opportunity to get informed about the latest developments and trends on hpc.

sc09 Conference in Portland, Oregon

As every year many professionals from Switzerland will attend the conference. This is great opportunity to meet together (quite away from home, I have to admit). All hpc-ch colleagues and friends from Switzerland are invited to meet for a beer or a cup of coffee and exchange the first impressions. Newcomer will have the chance to get introduced to the Do’s and Not Do’s of the conference and where to find the most suitable information and invitations to special presentations.

And… visitors of the conference are kind invited to post their remarks (and pictures) about the conference.
